Life & Lost Souls notebook

It’s so addicting to start a new project, isn’t it? That’s why I’m doing it. Well not completely, but I’m rewriting a lot of the engine behind the game I’m working on right now. The posts that follow will be a rough accounting of the process of creating the engine and what it’s showing. I’m going to try and stray away from showing too much content from the game, but enough to get the point of the technical capabilities across. With a little bit of my life thrown into it. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on using this as an alternative to other social media platforms and start posting my lunch. Mostly because I don’t eat lunch.

First up on the docket: Rewriting rendering with SDL. GLFW kinda sucks if you want to polish parts of the input system it includes (cough cough haptic feedback cough cough). So I said fuck it and am jumping ship to SDL. It was a very nice, comfortable, ignorant home while I stayed. But alas, I embrace the sweet cold embrace of something I’ve only ever used in passing.
